Harlock: The Space Pirate

Filled with potential but lacking in just about every department. I saw this as a stand alone and have not heard of or touched any of the other source material. This movie on it's own didn't waste my time and might even be fun to watch again someday however it was severely lacking. The motivations of characters was always changing and made little sense. It also never seemed to end. I and my accomplice felt like we'd watched a three and a half hour movie when to our surprise it was only an hour and fourty minutes until the ten minute credits.

CIVIL WAR

Meh.
Kill Me Three Times

A modern-day, non-linear noir in the vein of Tarantino that doesn't quite measure up. Still somewhat entertaining, if a little predictable in its twists. I'll give it 3 out of 5 severed ears.

I have seen that movie at some point however I forget what I thought. The cast list is impressive.

Medicine Man (1992) ****
Sean Connery and some girl.

From the timeperiod of environmental psychopathic agendas we dub the Ferngully era comes a larger than life Connery with his boobilicious assistant who fight off lumber road workers to save humanity. Put aside the political agenda and I think the movie still stands quite tall and othert than the fact it was a pan and scan VHS tape it didn't feel dated.

4/5 for me but 3.5/5 for the person I was showing it to.

I really like Connery in this role and Bracco was quite entertaining. Ziplining, fighting Pygmies in a circle, causing more disaster when the environmentalist tries to stop it, sarcasm, wit, ants that look like spiders....
Rebirth **

I'm not sure what I just watched. Was it a new twist on The Game? Was it a failed commentary on something? I admit it had me on the edge of my seat a little with the intensity but ultimately I didn't feel like it went anywhere. Somewhere between a waste of time and intriguing.

I'm a little embarrassed to say I really enjoyed

The Way Way Back ****

I'm a sucker for Sam Rockwell, but add Amanda Peet and ding!

The whole cast was pretty decent. The movie plods along, tugs at your heart and finishes well. Summer Camp style movie about going your own way and being careful who you take with you as well as how you treat them.
Red
Heavy Metal in 3D
*****

It still rocks.
It is a one-way ticket to midnight.

Scream, Blacula, Scream, the sequel to Blacula. Groovy '70s dialogue, clothes, and blaxploitation excellence. No jive, brother. Three out of five honkeys.
While I've seen a lot of Pam Grier movies, I really only remember her in some old exploitation movie... Maybe Women in Cages? For the life of me I can't think of any related puns. It's never funny when I have to try this hard..... Well, it may never be funny when I do it. Did Blakula 'Spray Pam' all over the place?

The Abandoned **

This was awful, predictable, boring, and stupid. Only Jason Patric gave it any redeemable qualities. He was excellent but the movie was a waste of time.
