[ACT] Your last movie?
The Machinist (2004) Two-thirds of Christian Bale, Jennifer Jason Leigh, John Sharian, Michael "da Man" Ironside

The movie for which Christian lost 63 lbs. Do I recommend it? Hell, yes. Would I watch it again? Oh hell, no. Not anytime soon. It's in a category with the likes of Midnight Cowboy and Deliverence.

Aunt's coming back in a couple days, so clearing out some old stuff from her DVR.

Robocop 2 (1990) Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Tom "Tooth Fairy" Noonan

sigh

They tried to keep the satire, but at least it wasn't the pure cash grab of Robocop 3. Oh, don't get me wrong, it was a cash grab, alright, just not a RC3 level cash grab.

Kate (2021) Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Woody Harrelson, Miku Martineau

I liked it. More than I thought I would. And I thought I would like it just because of Mary Elizabeth Winstead, whose performances I've enjoyed, that I've seen, even if I didn't particularly enjoy the show. I liked her in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and in season three of Fargo, with her baby daddy. I liked her in BrainDead and the execrable The Thing (2011) (which, according to a "What the Hell Happened"-type show I saw, was almost entirely the fault of the producers who kept interfering). I thought she did a good job with the material she was given in Birds of Prey, also with her baby daddy, and her confused reaction in Tarantino's Death Proof was spot-on perfect.

So, yeah, I liked her performance, but I also like how they took a murder mystery (Who killed me?) story and changed it into a revenge-cum-redemption story.

Zone 414 (2021) Guy Pearce, Matilda Lutz, Jonathan Aris

As Rotten Tomatoes puts it, ""Zone 414 wastes a game Guy Pearce while ill-advisedly begging comparisons with numerous superior sci-fi thrillers." Can't really add more to that.

The Sorcerer and the White Snake (2013) Jet Li, Shengyi Huang, Raymond Lam

Based on a Chinese fairy tale of a snake demon that falls in love with a human. Great practical effects, second-rate cgi. A little slow at points, the music was schmaltzy. It was a good love story with sub-par Jet Li fight scenes.

Deathstalker (1983) Richard Hill, the late Lana Clarkson (murdered by Phil Specter), Barbi Benton

Who would have thought that a Sword & Sorcery movie with so many boobies would be so awful? And there are a lot of boobies.

Fun fact: the two mud wrestling women were sisters.

Hawk the Slayer (1980) John Terry, Jack Palance

No, I had never watched it before. Yes, I know how much people in the rpg community love it. I can see why. It's still a bad movie where the wooden plank of a lead is only countered by the scenery chewing of Palance. 4.5/5

Barbarian Queen (1985) the late Lana Clarkson (murdered by Phil Specter), Katt Shea, Dawn Dunlap

Somehow worse than Deathstalker.

Fun Fact: Katt Shea would go on to direct such classics as Stripped to Kill (1987); Poison Ivy (1992) starring Drew Barrymore, Sara Gilbert, and Tom Skerrit; The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999); and Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase (2019).
