Back in my youth, when I either rode my bicycle or walked everywhere, I walked the ~1.7 miles to the mall in the middle of summer and bought Traffic's Mr. Fantasy on cd. After getting home, I put the cd in the player and sat down to listen. Needless to say, after schlepping over three miles in the summer heat, it wasn't long before I fell asleep. No big deal, but it wasn't a deep sleep and there was a speck of dust on the cd causing it to keep repeating the segment in "Utterly Simple were the bell rings. This bell worked its way into my sleep first as a phone that kept ringing even after it had been answered, unhooked, and thrown out the window, then as an alarm clock that wouldn't shut off. I have no idea how long the player kept going over the same five seconds over an over and over and over and over and over and over again before I finally woke up to take care of it but to this day I still cringe when the son played.
