Tracy's HackMoor Campaign 2016/06/26
#1
Games are on Monday night sometime after 5:30PM at World's Best Comics, 9714 Warwick Blvd Newport News, Virginia 23601.

HOWEVER THERE IS NO GAME TOMORROW BEING A HOLIDAY.  BUT SINCE THE STORE IS OPEN I SHOULD BE THERE ALL DAY WITH PROBABLE BOARD GAMES.

This time we had a steak, chicken, mushroom, & extra cheese pizza. It was gone in 15 minutes. The Player for Jacko took the last slice without dicing for it, but due tho his alighnment he is not penalized with an Honor point.

Looking for persons to Play the NPC encounters in this scenario. No pressure, no character building just the willingness to use your power and influence.

++++ START OF SESSION ++++

We last left the Party looking through the ramshackles of what used to be the Thieves Guild, and they found nothing. Although by all rights, they "should" have found a secret one-way door. Except that it was one way, so on the Player side it was nothing more than another wall. So even if they did find it, there was nothing they could do about it, since it couldn't be opened from their side, so I didn't let them find it, shouldn't find it. Ad infinitum, recursive.

On the other hand, Aery's ability to notice things let her remember that the footpath to the outhouse out back looked too well traveled for the typical town's outhouse. Especially for an abandoned building.

Heigh-ho and to the outhouse, the party goes.

Jacko took the preliminary lead to the the outhouse investigation looking down the hole there was an apparent rope ladder so he climbed down and found a small man made cavern in addition to the expected crap bucket. Exploring further, he found a locked wooden door along with the poison trap in the handle. Signalling to the party above they sent the rest of their away team, consisting of Jacko, Huang, Honda and surviving Monks. Aerys, Blake, and Vixine stayed topside.

Again he found no secret doors. (Yes, there was a secret one way door, but again I deemed it impossible to find. It would have modified the encounter. Sensing a pattern here, I'm deciding secret one-way doors simply can't be found unless you are on the unhidden entrance side. Otherwise there is no point to them. It isn't like there are cast-iron revolving turnstiles like those found in zoo aviaries that make them one-way.)

Anyway back to the regular wooden door...

Unable to disarm the trap or unlock the door (it was an "excellent" lock with 20% penalty to unlock it), they decided to bash it down. Regarding the trap, luckily for the party, the poison needles shot harmlessly into the ceiling.

On the other side, they found a small ten foot by ten foot chamber with metal door on the other side. It hand no locking mechanism, just a handle. They pulled on it to no avail judging it locked from inside, they decided to do one remaining thing.

Huang & Honda came up the metal door and knocked.

Even with declarations of, "Flowers", "Candy-Gram", "Trick-or-Treat, "UNICEF", or "Jehovah's Witnesses" they got no answer.

Of course while waiting there facing the metal door, they were attacked from the rear by two Skulking Carcasses (Undead Thieves). The battle was short, but one of the Monks, Stin Ki Poo was killed.  It was because Skulking Carcasses are cognizant undead, and one took advantage of Stin Ki Poo going to zero hit points and turned him.  So the party ended up killing Stin Ki Poo again.  Unusually appropriate, given their location.

Almost a glaring omission, whilst the party had about faced to fight the new threat, the metal door opened from behind and Huang was attacked from the rear by yet another Skulking Carcass.  But Huang easily slayed it.

Since the metal door was now open, the party found within a cage containing a prisoner and three unopened chests.

Interrogating the prisoner from without, the Party found prisoner named Sendrick Redrage, who told them he was the last living member of the Thieves Guild the rest having been turned into undead.  He accurately warned the party the three chests were filled with Sleeping gas, Choking gas, and Stinking gas.  Having earned their trust the party released him and immediately contracted him out to train the party members (of the Thief type) to the next level which they accomplished in three weeks.

Meanwhile the Party members not so trained did other tasks and the trainees also did other things "after training hours" yet to be played out.  Most notably, Jacko desperately wants to visit the Brothel, which can be easily *and most likely) accomplished after hours.  Even though Sendrick warned them against it.  Mainly because that is the last place the three other Thieves guild members had gone before they came back as Undead.
