Painting Miniatures
#1
Photo
I recently started painting miniatures again. It's probably been a decade since I was painting Ogre/GEV minis and double that for fantasy miniatures.

I pulled out my decade old Citadel paints and some were okay, some garbage, and others I breathed life into with thinner. I also had some generic hobby shop acrylics someone bought me a few years ago. I even still have a few enamel paints from well over 20 years ago. Apparently I liked them as i have a number of half painted minis using them.

Anyhow, started with some two headed giants with guns for play. Moved onto the Grey Aliens I just bought and a Bard.

I never really liked painting. It was a means to an end. I want to play games with them.

Mighty Armies and Song of Blades and Heroes primarily. That said it might be nice to make my own rules for 15-25mm minis related to Toying With Destruction (I had written Army Men rules which would work in a similar fashion). I also made mini rules for playing X-Com. I used Mage Knight (a game i've never played) minis for use in that game.

I pulled out my 15mm Barbarian Horde and started slicing all the crap left from the molds. What intensive work it is.

My goal is to finish some D&D minis, my two MA armies, the rest of my Ogre minis, and some Napoleonics.

My four Heavy Gear Mechs (Badlands Rally). The shark on the right isn't quite finished. I haven't decided on what to do with it yet. The other three are done.
