Bridges

I celebrated Canada Day twice and Independence Day once.

One of the things I always notice during the Yank's celebration is the positive vibes the Canadians send across the way. There are fireworks on both sides and it strikes me as a nice way to keep the connection between what is essentially, cousins on different paths; keeping the bridges that connect us alive.

There was a time when even at war, opposing sides would loan the other fireworks for their celebration. Even while at each other's throats, cousins were tending each other's farms and making sure they had gunpowder for celebrations.

While we may have lost some respect in treating enemies as less than Human, it's clear that the underlying coals of humanity are still there and maybe we can fan them into a nice warm flame.
